This much-revived classic has been a smash comedy hit in London and on Broadway. It offers wit, conflict and humor as finicky novelist Charles, finds himself haunted by the ghost of his first wife, Elvira. Well aware of Charles’ shortcomings, Elvira is called up by a “happy medium,” the eccentric Madame Arcati (played on Broadway by the late Angela Lansbury).
As personalities clash, Charles’ current wife Ruth dies unexpectedly. She “passes over” and joins Elvira to haunt the unfortunate Charles forever.
