The Best Boise Breweries

10 Barrel Brewing Co.

Originally started in Bend, Oregon, 10 Barrel found its place right along West Bannock Street in downtown Boise, where it serves patrons handcrafted brews and delicious elevated pub food. On tap, they have an exciting award-winning collection of ales, blondes, and sours and a selection of seasonal, specialty, and limited-release canned and bottled beers. They also boast their locally sourced pub-food menu consisting of appetizers, starters, pizzas, and more.

10 Barrel Brewing Co. is open daily, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Sunday to Thursday, and from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., on Fridays and Saturdays.

Bear Island Brewing

Bear Island is a small, veteran-owned brewery with a big personality. Situated along Liberty Street in old Boise Firehouse #6, this family-run craft brewery features a range of always-on-tap ales and a specialty or seasonal selection of beers, ciders, and cider wines. Catch the Rockin’ Q BBQ food truck every Friday and Saturday and live music every first Friday of the month.

Bear Island is open from Monday to Thursday from 4 to 9 p.m. and Friday to Saturday from 2 to 10 p.m.

Boise Brewing

Located on Broad St. in downtown Boise, Boise Brewing is a community-owned brewery offering an extensive range of craft beer, some of which are award-winning. Dubbing itself as “Boise’s Living Room,” Boise Brewing offers a vibrant community through its famous Taproom, where you can sample different brews and mingle with avid craft beer enthusiasts. With a recently added kitchen, they now serve a variety of appetizers, burgers, and more. Boise Brewing opens every day from 12 noon to 10 p.m.

Clairvoyant Brewing

Clairvoyant Brewing is a cozy neighborhood brewery located just beyond downtown Boise, and now also in Garden City known as Clairvoyant West. They have a pretty good range of beers consisting of ales, lagers, stouts, and more. You can also order from food trucks outside while you enjoy watching sports on their many TVs. Be sure to check their FB page to catch live music events.

Downtown Boise, is open from 3 to 10 p.m., Monday to Thursday, 12 to 11 p.m., Friday to Saturday, and 12 to 8 p.m. on Sundays. Garden City is open Thursday, 3-10p.m., Friday 3-11p.m., Saturday 12-11p.m., and Sunday 12-8p.m.

Cloud 9 Brewery

Cloud 9 Brewery is a North End nano brewery-slash-restaurant known for two things: an exciting selection of six rotating taps and six year-round taps and being the only certified organic brewery in Idaho. You can also order their lunch and dinner specials to go along with your beer — also locally sourced and made with organic ingredients.

You can drink and dine at Cloud 9 Brewery Tuesday to Thursday from 12 to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday 10-10p.m., and Sunday 12-9p.m.

Edge Brewing Company

Edge Brewing Company offers an extensive selection of year-round beers, seasonal brews, B-Side bombers, and limited-release drinks. Non-beer drinkers can also order ciders and vodka cocktails. This craft pub offers different menu promos each day, such as $3 Can Monday, Taco Tuesdays, Wing Wednesdays, and many more, so check out their website menu before you visit!

Edge Brewing opens from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. Monday to Thursday and until 10 p.m. from Friday to Saturday. They’re also open on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and serve Happy Hour every weekday from 3 to 6 p.m.

Highlands Hollow Brewhouse

Highlands Hollow — or simply “The Hollow” to loyal patrons — holds the title of the oldest microbrewery in Boise (est. 1992.) Their claim to fame? An impressive range of always-on-tap and rotating handcrafted ales. They also have a permanent food menu that pairs well with their drinks and live local music every Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m.

Drop by The Hollow every Monday to Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Happy Hour starts from 3 to 6 p.m. every Wednesday to Saturday.

Lost Grove Brewing

Lost Grove Brewing has 2 Boise locations – one in the North End’s Hyde Park, and on S LaPointe St. They create a truly personal beer-drinking experience giving you a sneak peek of where the magic happens. Inside their large 70-seat capacity La Pointe taproom are large windows that give you a view of their brewing facility, which is located beside the premises. And if you’re looking for fresh air, you can enjoy their range of IPAs, sours, stouts, porters, and more on their big outdoor patio bar. They also have a small selection of pizza’s sandwiches, and apps. Their North End location also included craft cocktails, and Asian inspired dishes.

Grab a cold one at La Pointe from Sunday to Wednesday, 12 to 9 p.m., and Thursday to Saturday, 12 to 10 p.m. Hyde Park is open Sunday to Thursday 11:30 a.m. – 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday 110:30 a.m. to Midnight!

Mad Swede

Mad Swede Brewing Company is a locally-owned, family-run brewery that combines farm-to-table ingredients with an innovative brewing processes to make amazing craft beer. With a tasting room at their brewing location on Cole Road, and a Brew Hall in Downtown Boise, theyprides itself on providing a warm and relaxing bonding experience for everyone to enjoy — including kids and dogs! Besides enjoying award-winning beers, there are events almost every evening.

Payette Brewing Co.

Payette Brewing has been serving Idaho natives with some of the best craft brews in the state since 2010. They’re well-known for their solid selection of ales, IPAs, stouts, and porters, plus seasonal beers made with local ingredients. You can enjoy a cold one with your loved ones in their 11,000-square-foot Beer Garden, which features lots of activities for everyone — including food truck fare, live music, a fire pit, and more.

This award-winning brewery is open every day from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Sockeye Brewing & Alehouse

Sockeye Brewing has been a staple for many Boise craft beer drinkers since 2002. Their new Alehouse, in Boise’s north end, has a full-service restaurant, a fully stocked liquor bar, and a 9-Hole putting course, along with 20+ taps. The OG Grill & Brewey, located on Fairview Avenue, showcases a rotating selection of limited-release beers and a full menu of starters, burgers, salads, and entrees.

Sockeye Brewing locations are open 7 Days a Week, with Happy Hours during the week. Hours vary by day and location, so check the website before visiting.

White Dog Brewing Company

With locations on Caldwell’s Indian Creek Plaza and in downtown Boise, White Dog Brewing is a craft brewery dedicated to providing a “one-of-a-kind beer drinking experience” and creating craft beer that can be enjoyed by all palates. Their handcrafted brews consist of IPAs, ales, stouts, sours, and more, plus some canned craft brews you can order for takeout. Fare from Smoke and Thyme is available and pairs nicely with their brews.

The Best Garden City Breweries

Barbarian Brewing

If you enjoy particularly sour beers, you should definitely stop by Barbarian Brewing. This Garden City brewery features a rotating beer selection of barrel-aged and sour beers, IPAs, dark ales, specialty beers, and much more. Though they don’t serve food, you can bring outside food or snacks to munch on while you enjoy a cold one. Their original location can be found downtown, where they often have live music.

Barbarian Brewing is open from 3 to 9 p.m. from Monday to Thursday, 12 to 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sundays.

Idawild Brewing Company

Idawild is a small yet cozy family-owned and operated brewery nestled along Chinden Boulevard in Garden City. This craft brewery offers its special collection of house-made beers and wines, ciders, and other beverages sourced from small, local breweries. You, your family, and your furry companions can also come and enjoy different food menus from rotating food trucks. Idawild Brewing Company opens its doors from Wednesday to Friday, 4 to 9 p.m., Saturdays from 2 to 9 p.m., and Sundays from 2 to 7 p.m.

Powderhaus Brewing Co

Powderhaus is an Alpine-inspired Idaho brewery geared towards patrons with a taste for adventure and the outdoors. Its location features lots of outdoor seating, a large tasting facility, and an extensive craft beer menu of year-round and seasonal ales, IPAs, lagers, ambers, and more. Powderhaus is open for brewing and drinking from Monday to Thursday from 3 to 10 p.m., Friday to Saturday from 12 to 10 p.m., and Sunday from 12 to 7 p.m.

Twisted District Brew Co.

Twisted District offers a fun atmosphere, delicious grub, and a fantastic beer selection to newcomers and seasoned patrons alike. Located right in the heart of Garden City, this brewery-slash-restaurant serves a variety of ales, porters, stouts, sours, ciders, cocktails, and much more. Aside from their beer, what keeps patrons coming back is their food menu, featuring a wide variety of appetizers, sharing platters, desserts, and more. Western Collective Brewery & Taproom

Western Collective has developed a loyal following thanks to its amazing ambiance, superb service, spacious taproom and patio area, and of course, fantastic beer selection. Located just right off the Boise River Greenbelt Trail, this craft brewery boasts an impressive menu of 10 rotating taps, hard seltzers, shandies, barrel-aged stouts, and their famous cocktail slushies. They also have a rotation of food trucks to go with your drink, so watch out for those.

Drop by Western Collection from Sunday to Thursday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and from Friday to Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 12 a.m.

The Best Eagle Breweries

Spring Creek

Right along the Boise foothills on Highway 55 lies Spring Creek Brewing Company, a craft brewery that doubles as a wood-fired pizza restaurant. On tap, they have a mix of porters, IPAs, ciders, and ales and a full-range pub fare you can enjoy while watching your favorite sports on their many TVs. The kitchen is closed on Mondays, but you can count on a rotation of food trucks if you ever need a quick bite. They also have live music events performed by local artists every other Friday.

You can visit Spring Creek Brewing every day of the week except Tuesday. It’s open Mondays from 4 to 8 p.m., Wednesdays and Thursdays from 12 to 9 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays from 12 to 10 p.m., and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The Best Meridian Breweries

Loose Screw

Nestled along West McMillan Road, Loose Screw is a chill, family-friendly craft brewery that offers tons of craft brews (plus some award-winning ones!) and delicious food sourced from local partner restaurants. Their tap list features a hefty range of IPAs, stouts, lagers, ciders, and more. There are also some fun amenities for patrons to enjoy, such as fire pits, board games, and even dog treats for your pups.

The Loose Screw is open from Sunday to Thursday, 12 to 9 p.m., and Friday to Saturday, 12 to 10 p.m.

The Best Nampa Breweries

2C Family

The 2C Family Brewing Company is a 10-barrel brewery situated in the oldest standing building in Nampa, the Dewey Scales Building. It’s the place to be in Nampa, especially since you can enjoy live music, board games, and community tables while you enjoy a drink from their extensive tap list. 2C Family serves German lagers, ales, stouts, IPAs, pales, and a whole lot more — all of which pair well with the pub fare. Kids and dogs are also welcome.

2C Family is open from Tuesday to Thursday, 3 to 10 p.m., Friday from 3 to 11 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Crescent Brewery

Lovingly referred to as “the Cheers of Nampa,” the Crescent Brewery has served Nampa locals with lager-style beer since 1907. This long-standing brewery is known for its local live music, karaoke nights, open mic events, and of course, fantastic craft beer. Take a pick from their craft beer list, which includes a variety of ales, porters, lagers, blondes, and more.

Tucked away somewhere on Madison Avenue in Nampa is Mother Earth, a massive brewing warehouse where customers and their families can come, enjoy a drink or two, and see how all the magic happens. Their tasting room features 20+ house taps plus other guest taps (aka Project X — check it out!), which include wine and cider. For fun, you can waste time on their indoor basketball court, play a round of corn hole, or play around with 3-foot Jenga blocks. They recently opened a tasting room in downtown Boise.
